mag.art. Je. elet Jesch (dey/dem) arbeitet transdisziplinär in den Bereichen Performance, Skulptur und Videoinstallation an künstlerischen Projekten in Wien und Salzburg. Neben dem Studium der Transmedialen Kunst an der Universität für Angewandte Kunst (2008-15) absolvierte dey diverse Ausbildungen im tänzerischen Bereich u.a. am MoveOn Dancecenter (2012-14).

Im Zentrum von Je. Jesch’s künstlerischer Arbeit, steht die konsequente Verschränkung unterschiedlicher Kunstbereiche: von Bildender Kunst, über Performance bis Design. Die konzeptuellen Arbeiten changieren zwischen Raum- und Lichtinstallation, (Tanz-) Performance, Skulpturen und Wearables. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt hierbei auf der Erweiterung und Auflösung von Ausstellungsräumen durch Videoinstallation, Augmented Reality und immersive Publikumskonzepte. Die behandelten Themen kreisen um Medienkonsum, erweiterte Möglichkeiten der Wahrnehmung und Kommunikation oder Nachteile technischer Hilfsmittel und werden in sehr konkretem Bezug auf Körper und Raum gesetzt. In den künstlerischen Konzepten schwingt zumal ein gewisses Maß an Gesellschaftskritik mit, welche sich aber in einer poetischen oder humorvollen Art und Weise zeigen darf.

Seit 2017 initiiert Je. Jesch Kunsträume und Kollektive zum künstlerischen Austausch. In diversen Zwischennutzungen wie bspw. der Bujattivilla (2017-18), realisierte dey dutzende Ausstellungen, Events und Workshops. Im Moment arbeitet elet im Kollektiv Sandkasten Syndikat, welches dey 2020 mitbegründet hat und ist in weiteren Kollektiven wie Ex Machinis Musicae, dem Femchor und der Semmelweisklinik tätig.

Je. elet Jesch (they/them) - studied Transmedial Art at the University of Applied Arts (2008-15) and dance (2012-14) at Move-on Dance Center Vienna. They work as a media-artist, dancer, graphic- and stage designer on different art projects in Vienna and Salzburg.

In the center of Je. Jesch‘s work is the consistent intersection of space and light installation, (dance-)performance and sculpture. A special focus and interest in their work is on the expansion and dissolution of stage or performing space through video installation, immersive audience concepts or augmented reality.

Je. Jesch‘s topics revolve around (new)media consumption and the expanded possibilities of perception, but also the disadvantages of technical aids. Another focus is on the body, the space it provides itself and the space it is living/working/breathing in. Though a certain amount of social criticism resonates in their artistic works, it shows in a poetic and sometimes humorous way.

Furthermore they have been dedicated to create cultural spaces and initiated collectives and networking spaces for artistic collaboration and exchange. Within interim spaces like the Bujattivilla (2017-18), an old mansion built in 1920, they organized various (group) exhibitions, events and workshops. At the moment Je. Jesch is working with the collective „Sandkasten Syndikat“ (Sandbox Syndicate), that they co-founded in 2020 and other collectives such as Ex Machinis Musicae, Femchor and Semmelweisklinik.
